‘I lost my hair in my early 20s and I NEVER took my hat off because I was so embarrassed and chronically self-conscious. Tom Jones had a big hit with ‘You Can Leave Your Hat On’, a song taken from the film ‘The Full Monty’, but keeping my hat on was no laughing matter for me. I avoided looking in mirrors because I hated seeing my reflection. Why did I have to be the one to lose my hair at such a horribly young age?
