Myth #1: Hair loss is uncommon.
Contrary to the common myth that hair loss is rare, it is actually quite common.
Studies show up to 50% of men with mild hair loss and 75% of men with moderate to severe hair loss report concerns. It also affects approximately 12% of women between the ages of 20 and 29.
We understand it can be a sensitive topic, but there’s no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed about it.
Our founder and consultant, Pete, wears a hair system. He can personally relate to the challenges that come with hair loss. Additionally, our female consultant, Annie, has also experienced hair loss and can empathise with the emotional impact it can have.
You can learn more about Pete’s story here.
We believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for our clients to discuss their concerns and find the best solutions for their individual needs.
There are many causes of hair loss such as:
- Alopecia
- Male Pattern Baldness
- Female Pattern Baldness
- Scalp Folliculitis
- Trichotillomania
- Stress
- Cancer Treatment
- Many more causes.
Myth #2: Hair systems are uncomfortable or unnatural-looking.
We want to dispel the myth that hair systems are uncomfortable or unnatural-looking. Our customisable hair systems are designed to suit your specific needs and lifestyle, and we guarantee a comfortable and natural-looking fit.
Whether you’re looking to cover up thinning hair or bald spots or add volume to thinning hair, we have the perfect solution for you.
Our hair systems have the ability to boost your confidence and self-esteem. This will allow you to look and feel your best at work, at social events, and in everyday life.
Myth #3: Treating hair loss isn’t important because it’s just hair.
Hair loss is often dismissed as a cosmetic issue, but it can have a significant impact on a person’s mental health and well-being.
Research has shown that hair loss can increase the risk of depression, anxiety, and social isolation. Moreover, hair loss can negatively affect a person’s self-esteem and quality of life.
Myth #4: Wearing a hat or using hair products can cause hair loss.
We understand that there are many misconceptions about hair loss, including the belief that wearing a hat or using hair products can cause hair loss.
We want to reassure you that this is not the case. While certain hair products and styles can damage hair and make it appear thin or brittle, they do not cause hair loss. Similarly, wearing a hat does not cause hair loss, although it may contribute to hair breakage or tangling.
Myth #5: Hair loss is always permanent.
Hair loss can be temporary or permanent, depending on the underlying cause. In some cases, hair may grow back on its own without any treatment.
Medical treatments or procedures may be needed for hair regrowth in some cases.
Myth #6: If I start treatment too late, I won’t be able to regain my hair.
It’s not too late to start treatment now. The sooner you start, the more likely you will be to maintain your hair.
Hair loss is a progressive condition, which means it gets worse over time as more and more of your hair follicles go into the resting phase (also known as telogen).
If you start treatment early enough and keep up with it regularly, then this process can be slowed or even stopped altogether.
In fact, laser therapy has been shown to stop hair loss and even help with regrowth!
Myth #7: Hair systems require extensive maintenance and care.
While there are some aspects of caring for your hair system that differ from caring for natural hair, such as cleaning and styling it on a regular basis, the overall process is actually not too different from maintaining your own hair.
If you’re dealing with the fear or the reality of losing your hair, you need to know that help is available and it’s effective.
