COVID-19 Update 17th April 2020

To all our valued friends and clients,

As you may have seen, the UK government has extended the lockdown period for at least another 3 weeks.

As a client myself I know exactly how you are all feeling right now. The one thing we all want is to just get our hair done to feel better about ourselves while the uncertainty of the situation unfolds, but I’m afraid we all need to wait a little longer.

At Optima we have always prided ourselves on integrity and honesty, and we must follow the current guidelines for the good of all our clients and staff, and also the whole country while this epidemic plays out. We have been inundated with emails asking the simple question: “Are you planning to open during the lockdown period?”

I’m afraid that the answer is no.

It would be unethical of us to put our clients and staff at risk when it is impossible for us to work within the social distancing guidelines of 2m. We are working tirelessly behind the scenes putting the procedures in place so that we can open as soon as we are legally allowed to do so, but this is taking time with limited PPE supplies. Remember, things will be very different when you visit us due to the safety guidelines needed for all of us. I will post another message once the procedures have been finalised, hopefully in the next week or so. They will be put in place to protect you and us, and allow us to carry on doing the job that we have loved for the last 17 years.

If you contact us at reception@optimahair.co.uk and are an existing client we will forward through a link of a client of ours who has very kindly done a step by step video on how to do a refusion on yourself at home. You can buy a self maintenance kit, or we can advise you on the best products to buy online. We will do everything in our power to make this new experience as easy as possible. If it means the stylists face timing you to talk you through it we will try our best to make it happen. We’ve even had offers of help from long serving clients of ours who have done their own home service, offering advice and reassurance to any clients who may need it. As well as that, we’ve had a very kind offer from a therapist client of ours, offering free mental health therapy to cope with this crazy situation we are all in.

Whatever it takes we will bend over backwards to help as we always have, but I’m afraid I must confirm, we cannot open the studio for client service while in lockdown. We are still getting information at the same time as you all, hour by hour. As soon as we get the go ahead, we will mobilise for reopening.

For our many laser clients, please, DON’T WORRY. Please drop an email to reception@optimahair.co.uk and we will arrange to send out any stimulants that will help retain the results you have been having, so it won’t affect the long-term benefits of your treatment.

In the meantime, please stay home, stay safe, and protect the NHS.
