Another Happy Customer!

Dear Pete, Claire and everyone at Optima, 

When I visited you with my family for the first time a year ago I learned something new about not having hair - Having no hair doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom and something to be ashamed of like so many of the other hair companies make you feel!From the moment I walked into your salon it didn’t feel cold and serious! I heard laughter and we were greeted like friends AND I didn’t feel different and this was a real change!! 

As I looked through the albums in your reception area I was struck by all the other children of my age who, like me, also have no hair. I read their letters of thanks and was really moved by the photos of them wearing their new hair supplied by Pete and the Optima gang. Everyone looked so happy and their letters only confirmed this.  

Pete greeted us so warmly and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a hair fitting! The 12 weeks it took for my hair to be made dragged by! I was secretly worried because I’ve been really excited about other hair systems in the past and they’ve never been as wonderful as I’d expected - the hair has been too voluminous, cut badly, shed quickly or just been down right uncomfortable!  

But it was so different with the ones you gave me! 12 weeks later I returned to Birmingham very excited. When we arrived there were 2 glossy ginger hair systems that looked exactly as my old hair did (I was 9 when I lost all my hair within 4 weeks and now I’m 12 years old) - it was really emotional. They were not too thick and not too thin, they were and still are so comfortable I felt as if I was walking around with nothing on my head.  

Claire cut them beautifully and they were the best haircuts I have had in my life! That day I was so happy I cannot describe it and I know my mum was too. I had my hair again!  

All last summer I swam in my new hair and played in the sand in them and yet they didn’t loose shape, looks or density. When I brushed them no hair came out unlike my other hair systems. I could style them and plait them and tie them in high ponytails without worrying that anyone would know! My mum doesn’t grumble about washing these ones because they are so easy. The old ones used to tangle dreadfully and block all our plug holes with shedding hair. 

My Brother, Mum and Dad were so happy for me! When I returned to school everyone was amazed and shocked at how realistic my hair could be! Nobody gives a second thought to the fact that I have no hair anymore because of my new hair and because of you! 

They have made my life so much easier and I owe that to you and everyone who made them. I really don’t think I could live without them! I can do everything I have always done with hair.I have so much to thank you all for! Not only for the hair systems but also for the friends I’ve made at Optima and the life you have all made possible. It’s not easy being bald but Optima have made it that much easier - Thank you. 

I have met many unpleasant people since I’ve had alopecia but I remember them for as long as it took them to make their cruel remark whilst it’s the wonderful people I’ve met along the way that I will remember for as long as I live.
