All women have some of the male hormone testosterone in their bodies, but women with androgenetic alopecia are more sensitive to this hormone. Yes, absolutely all our topical re-growth, DHT inhabitants and concealing products can be used at home on a daily basis. We also offer advanced home “hand-held” laser for clients who opt for the advanced laser therapy but are unable to attend our studio for weekly appointments or prefer treatment in the privacy of their own home.
Optima also offer a range of concealing and electro-static camouflage products that can be very useful, particularly for thinning hair. They help by coating the hair with fine hair like fibres, making it look thicker and denser. They also cover the scalp underneath, which helps reduce the contrast between light skin and darker hair. We also offer various herbal medications to assist in re-growth, in addition to topical lotions and shampoo’s for hair detoxification and rejuvenation.

Optima was born from the vision and determination of Pete Murtha and Karen Allen who were convinced they could create a positive and dynamic change in the lives of men, women and children who were facing up to the grim reality of hair loss. Pete is the inspirational driving force of the company and, having suffered the psychological trauma of losing his hair in his early twenties and even contemplating suicide, he totally empathises with those facing the same dilemma. He is perfectly placed to share his own personal experiences in his quest to address your needs and concerns.
Unfortunately, surgery cannot replace all 98,000 to 120,000 hairs on a person’s head, as hair transplant surgery is only ideal for covering small receding areas.
