Charity Work

Supporting young people in their hour of need is one of the most important aspects of our work.

Cancer treatments often lead to temporary hair loss – sometimes permanent – and we always feel humbled when helping put smiles back on the faces of these incredibly brave children.

Many people are unaware that cancer treatments are not the only cause of hair loss in children. Alopecia Areata and Alopecia Totallis are two common causes of children’s hair loss, however amongst other conditions we have helped children suffering from Trichotillomania (the act of pulling your own hair out) and Telogen Effluvium (hair loss caused by severe stress).

We work closely with The Little Princess Trust who provide funding for children suffering from hair loss, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital who see the real stars of Optima day in, day out. To find out more about funding please don’t hesitate to call us.

Whatever the cause of your child’s hair loss, we’re here to put it right.

The real Optima stars

Below is just a small collection of the wonderful children we have helped over the years as part of our positive contribution to the community. We place a particular emphasis on supporting young people in their 'hour of need,' helping children overcome crippling adversity by boosting their confidence and, with it, their own perceptions of self worth and personal esteem.
